How To Make a Cherry Blossom With Paper
Create beautiful origami cherry blossom flowers! These classic Sakura flowers are perfect for decorating handmade greeting cards, birthday cards, and walls. Learn how to make them!
The five petals on this origami flower are created by starting with a pentagon!
It is suggested that you begin with 15 x 15 cm paper. Once you get the hang of it, you can then make them with smaller paper.
To create the Pentagon, you must cut the paper. Alternatively, you can cut the petals to give them shape, which could turn this origami project into a more “origami”-style do-it-yourself project.
Items You’ll Require
Materials
One 15 × 15 centimeter piece of paper
Guidelines
Initial Set of Actions
Color side up is where you start. Your paper should be folded from the bottom to the top.
Next, raise the lower left corner to the center; do not crease the entire portion, just the center.
Make another pinch at the center after bringing the upper left corner diagonally down to the middle. The left side of the paper will now be marked in the center with an X.
Move the lower right corner to the center of the X and fold it in half.
- The Second Set of Actions
The flap can now be folded over to the right so that it lines up with the right section’s vertical edge.
The lower left corner should then be folded up and to the right so that it lines up with the right section’s left vertical edge.
Fold along the same left vertical edge to fold the entire left part behind.
You can now cut a petal form as indicated.
- The Third Series of Actions 10.Unfold the paper carefully.
You ought to be staring at your flower’s colored side.
- The flower must now be refolded, being careful to ensure that the creases between each petal are valley folds. Each petal’s central folds are supposed to mimic mountain folds.
Invert the lower left corner slightly. Turn the model over to face other direction.
The lower left portion should be folded in slightly (the same amount as the other side).
- Final Set of Actions
Gently open the flower by drawing the petals down from the back. At the same time as you pull the upper section to the right, grab onto the small square and gently raise it.
Spread the flower out. Initiate a clockwise rotation of the central point. Start slowly flattening the center by softly pushing it with your finger. It will flatten into a pentagon.
Once the flower is turned over, you have finished making an origami cherry blossom!
